John Rodriguez was born in the Dominican Republic, moved to New York City and has been living in Seattle for the last 4 years. He is a full-time Human Rights Activist and has been advocating for equality and civil rights for the past 15 years.
John has worked as Executive Director for different nonprofits, Development and Communications Manager, Travel Industry Management, Sales, and Marketing Consultant.
Currently, he owns a marketing consulting firm specializing in business and organization development, marketing, entrepreneurship and management.
He served as co-chair and is an active Commissioner for the Seattle LGBTQ Commission under the Office of Civic Rights, John also serves as Remote Executive Director for one of the It Gets Better Project’s affiliates and co-chairs a committee as a mental health provider for a health program managed by King County, serving the King, Snohomish and The Island counties. John also has been leading a peer support group focused on emotional support and suicide prevention for youth in Seattle.
John studied travel industry management, English, Spanish ESL teaching, marketing, counseling & coaching, as well as marketing research; obtaining degrees and certificates from CUNY, University of Kentucky, Harvard University, Columbia University, among others.
